Job Description :

A growing and large-scale wholesale distributor in Astoria is seeking a professional to work in a dual capacity as Payroll Specialist/Accounts Receivable Clerk. Responsibilites include, but are not limited to the following:



• Maintains employee files
• Verifies time punch accuracy by communicating with location managers
• Verifies accuracy of sick and vacation use and accruals
• Inputs and processes multi-state payrolls via payroll service
• Maintains time and attendance calendars
• Updates various accounting spreadsheets relating to payroll taxes and benefits
• Maintains benefit provider online files - hires, terms and changes
• Familiar with posting large volume cash receipts

At least 3 years’ experience; large multi-state & union payroll experience a plus
Must have strong organizational and follow up skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills a must
Must be detail oriented
Knowledge of MS Office; AS400 a plus
College Degree a plus, but not required

Position : Switchboard Receptionist
Salary : $11.50-$12.00 per hour

Temporary Receptionist Needed. This position may go Perm.


Must be able to assess a call and know who to transfer the call to without bouncing the customer around. Someone who will build a rapport with clients and who is extremely reliable! The first person in office to answer phones; must always be on time and arrive early to ensure answering at 9AM. This position requires someone very diligent and bright.

A candidate should be friendly and make a great first impression. Polite and upbeat personality with a smile that can be felt over the phone. Will be meeting and greeting clients as well as stuffing envelopes for the billing department. They will be responsible for sending out emails, signing for FedEx and UPS as well as filing and completing paperwork. Will be expected to assist with Data Entry/Billing as needed and do light typing. Must be able to multi-task.
